Cup Finals Day

Three GCU sports teams will compete in Scottish Universities Sport Cup Final matches on Wednesday 24th March in Edinburgh. GCU Men’s Rugby play Edinburgh Uni 2nds, GCU Men’s Football 2nds play St Andrews Uni 2nds and GCU Women’s Football play Heriot Watt Uni.

 

Graduates v Students

The first ever Graduate v Student sports event takes place on the 27th and 28th March. 60 graduates will play against 60 students at Rugby (at Cartha QP RFC) and Hockey (at Glasgow Academy Windyedge) on Friday night at 7.30pm and on Saturday at 10am to play Football (at Strathclyde Uni Pitches Stepps).

 

13th Annual Sports Awards Ball

Over 200 students will celebrate GCU’s past year of sporting success on the evening of Saturday 28th March at the Radisson Hotel.  GCU Students and graduates will attend the annual awards ball to recognise volunteering contribution and sporting achievement.

 

Karate Medals

Three GCU students have won medals at the British Universities Karate Championship in Sheffield on the 14th/ 15th March. Lisa Cairns won gold in the senior female under 55kg Kumite, Natalie Wood won a bronze medal in the senior female under 68kg Kumite and Lucasz Sadurek also won a bronze medal for novice male over 80kg Kumite.
