GCU Sports Person of the Year
3rd Year physiotherapy student Lisa Cairns is this years GCU Sports Person of the Year. Lisa achievements in karate this year include the Scottish Universities Karate Championship Gold, British Universities Karate Championship Gold 2008 and 2009, Karate Commonwealth Games Double Gold and European Wado Championship Gold. She was also selected for the British Universities karate team for the World Universities Karate Championship in Poland July 2008.
Scottish Universities Cup Final
Congratulations to GCU Men’s Rugby Club who have won the Scottish Universities Conference Cup, beating Edinburgh University 2nds 24-17 at Broughton Rugby Club in Edinburgh on Weds 25th March.
Graduate v Student Sports Event
The first ever Graduates v Students event took place over the last weekend. 60 alumni played against 60 students at football, rugby and hockey. The results were as follows:
