Sports Club Management

All GCUSA Sports Clubs are run by students, each club has an elected committee to oversee the organisation of the club. Each club has an individual Constitution which governs their structure and decision making. Each club also has a risk assessment and code of practice defining how they manage safety during activities.

GCUSA has guidelines to help clubs manage their activities and these can be donwloaded here.

First Aid Courses

Due to the nature of some student sports, recreation and social activities it is important to have first aiders in attendance at activities in the event of an accident or injury. The Students' Association organises FREE Emergency First Aid courses for Sports Club members to gain a qualification.

Dates for the next course:

Tuesday 2nd and 9th March – 5.30-8.30pm.

Room: M140 (George Moore Building)

Candidates must attend both sessions to gain certification. To book a place bring a £10 deposit (returned at the first session) to the reception at the Students’ Association. Places are limited so book early.
