The World Health Organisation has recommended that a flu buddy system will allow those that are not affected by the virus to give support to those who are, with minimum physical contact. So, if you fall ill and have flu like symptoms, a flu buddy (usually a friend or family member) is there to rely on and share some personal information that a doctor may need to know. Your flu buddy is someone that would keep in regular contact with yourself, bringing you food and making sure you are safe if you develop swine flu. On the other hand, if your buddy developed flu like symptoms, you would do the same for them. If you are a flu buddy, it’s recommended you leave any required medicines or groceries on the front doorstep and speak to the affected person on the phone, so there is no need for personal contact or risk of spreading the virus even further.
